Nightshift — for The Face

Eight pages on the after-hours economy, shot entirely between 11pm and 5am.

/ The brief

A commission about the people who keep a city running while it sleeps — kitchen porters, night nurses, minicab controllers, a bakery on its third rise.

No lighting rig beyond a single battery head. Everything else is sodium, neon and whatever the room already had, and the grade leans into that rather than correcting it.
